Accident and incident investigation
After a serious accident, what decides your liability is evidence of preventive management and a serious investigation.

What the law requires
- Investigate the causes of every work accident, occupational disease and dangerous incident, with worker participation and a gender perspective (DS 44).
- Use the method indicated by SUSESO (Causal Tree) and record dangerous incidents even without injuries.
- After a serious or fatal accident: stop the work, immediately notify the Labour Inspectorate and the health authority and report to the insurer (Law 16.744, art. 76).
- Adopt corrective and preventive measures and update the IPER matrix.

FAQ
Common questions about this service
What is a serious accident under the law?
Among others, one requiring rescue, a fall from more than 1.8 metres, an amputation or loss of any body part, or one involving more than two people. In those cases you must stop the work and notify immediately.
Why record incidents without injuries?
Because DS 44 requires it and because they are the best warning sign: every dangerous incident is an accident that almost happened.
