DS 44 implementation
Since 1 February 2025 DS 44 replaced DS 40 and DS 54. If your documents still cite the old decrees, you are already non-compliant.
What the law requires
- Hazard identification and risk assessment matrix (IPER) per job position, following the ISP Guide v3.
- Written preventive work programme with deadlines and owners, approved by the legal representative.
- Job-specific risk information (IRL), which replaces the old ODI, signed by each worker before starting work.
- Preventive structure by headcount: safety delegate (10 to 25), joint committee (over 25), prevention officer (under 100) or a department led by a registered expert (over 100).
- General 8-hour training every two years, risk map, disaster-risk management plan and electronic records of preventive activity.

FAQ
Common questions about this service
Does DS 44 apply to a company with 5 workers?
Yes. It applies to every employer with at least one employee. Companies under 25 workers get simplified instruments, but the IPER matrix, preventive programme, risk information and training remain mandatory.
How long until the folder is ready?
It depends on size and risk. For a typical small company the site survey and base documents take one to three weeks. If you have an inspection deadline, we prioritise what the inspector asks for first.
Does my mutual insurer not do this for free?
The mutual provides technical assistance, courses and templates, and it is a great help. What it does not do is execute the management inside your company: survey positions, write documents to your reality, train and follow up. We work in coordination with your insurer.
